Indiana Rocketry, Inc.

Indiana Rocketry, Inc. (Prefecture #132 of the Tripoli Rocketry Association [TRA] and Section #711 of the National Association of Rocketry [NAR]) is pleased to announce that the ThunderStruck 2023 Regional Rocket Launch will be held Friday, April 11th through Sunday, April 13th, 2025, at the Pence High Power Launch Field near Pence, Indiana, off County Road North 1000 West in Warren County.  The field will be open for flying from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

Indiana Rocketry, Inc. has a waiver from the FAA for 17,999 feet MSL. The combination of this waiver and the vast recovery areas will allow flyers to launch very large rockets to extreme altitudes. TAP and L3CC members will be available for certification flights.

This event features pre-registered fliers from across the Midwest including, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, and Minnesota.  This event features 36 launch pads, drag races (mass launches), and certification flights.

Mark your calendar and plan to join us for a launch that you will be sure to remember, complete with prize raffles, onsite rocketry vendors, food vendors, and fun for the whole family!  Spectators are free.  Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on.  Children under 18 years old can fly rockets (bring your own) for free.  First time visitors are encouraged to read the Spectators Guide to Indiana Rocketry Events posted on our website.  While we rigidly follow all national safety codes, rocketry has some inherent risks, so spectators and fliers assume all personal liability.

Indiana Rocketry, Inc. would like to publicly thank our landowners and their farm managers for their cooperation and assistance: Jay & Dixie Slauter, Greg Smith, Doug Hubner, Stephen & Cheryl Pithoud, Fleming Family Farms, Brent Culver, Burt & Rozanna Etchison, Neumayr Family, Bill Goodwine, and Tony & Eva Martin.

Older rocketeers will fondly remember several years of ThunderStruck launches at Ash Grove, IN where the first P impulse motor in Indiana was flown.  If you did not attend, click on the DVD cover below to view the trailers from previous ThunderStruck launches.
